Mom's KORU® Apple Pie

French Apple Crumble Crust option: Prepare pie as above omitting margarine and top crust. Mix 1 cup (150 grams) flour, ½ cup (120 grams) firm margarine or butter and ½ cup (100 grams) brown sugar until crumbly. Cook as directed above.


Pastry for one 9-inch pie

6 cups (Approximately 4) KORU® Apples, peeled and sliced

½-¾ cup (115-175 grams) sugar

¼ cup (38 grams) flour

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons margarine or butter

Dash of salt



  1. Preheat oven to 425f (220c)
  2. Prepare pie pan with bottom crust
  3. In a large bowl, mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Toss with apples.
  4. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate. Dot with butter or margarine.
  5. Cover with top crust that has slits in it; seal and flute.
  6. Cover edge with a strip of aluminium foil to prevent excessive browning; remove foil during last 15 minutes of baking.
  7. Bake 40-50 minutes until crust is brown and juice.
