KORU® Granola Bars

Experiment with other nuts; add sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or flax seeds. For the sweet tooth, add chocolate chips or coconut chips.
Ingredients
1 cup dried KORU® Apples, diced
1 cup (200 gm) pitted medjool dates, chopped finely (a food processor makes this easy!)
1 cup (100 gm) sliced almonds
1 1/2 cup (135 gm) rolled oats, toasted in 350F (180C) oven for 10-15 minutes
1/3 cup (115 gm) honey (or maple syrup)
1/3 cup (86 gm) peanut butter, smooth or chunky (or other nut butter)
16 whole almonds (optional for top)
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, combine dried KORU® Apples, dates, sliced almonds and rolled oats.
- Place honey and peanut butter in a small saucepan and warm over low heat until smooth.
- Pour honey mixture into the mixing bowl and stir to combine.
- Spoon the mixture into an 8x8 baking pan lined with baking paper.
- Place optional whole almonds on top to decorate bars.
- Cover with another sheet of baking paper and press firmly with a metal spatula.
- Cool in refrigerator, then remove from pan and cut into 16 bars (A pizza cutter works perfect for this!)
- Keeps several days in airtight containers, or freeze for future use.
